Lab Practical
Exams Instructions

 

Make sure you are ready to take the lab practical exam before you begin.
The link for "current lecture exam" will take you to the My Lab and Mastering A&P website or you can go directly there using your browser and the URL given in the My Lab and Mastering A&P document sent out during the second week of classes.
You would have also received an access using First Day.

Timed Tests will occur and only one attempt will be allowed.

Check the course calendar for the dates of the quiz or exam.

As a reminder: NO resources of any kind are to be use for any lecture exam. Please reference the instructors addendum and student agreement form. Answers for any exam essay questions should be in your own words and other types of questions (M/C, T/F, short answer, etc.) should be based on your own knowledge and recall.


Lab Practical Exams will expire on Tuesday immediately following the Friday start of a particular lab practical exam.
Times are addressed in the syllabus and any changes are announced as a reminder.
Once you begin the exam you will have 2 1/2 hours to answer the questions.
Having computer difficulty of any kind or running out of time are not valid reasons for incomplete work.
Do not use CougarWeb to access the Mastering A&P website or you will be timed out.
Remember, when using Mastering A&P, you must submit the exam so it can be graded.
Failure to submit your answers will result in a zero (0).

Any late work (if allowed) will be docked points according to what is outlined in the instructors addendum for the lab section of the course and this information is repeated on the instruction summary page on MAP

Confirmation of grades will be sent via email within 7 - 10 days after the posted calendar due date and time once the exam has been reviewed and graded.


Format : Biology lab practicals are set up in the lab as timed stations.


There are 25 stations with a variable number of questions per station for the main part of the practical. The total point value for each lab practical is 100 points. Each station is worth 4 points total. Questions for each station are worth the following point combinations:

1 question = 4 points

2 questions = 2 points each

4 questions = 1 point each

8 questions = 0.5 points each

SUMMARY : 25 stations @ 4 points total per station = 100 points for the exam
